About This Course

Shaped by both the east and the west, Türkiye has a thriving art and culture scene. Türkiye's diverse history has contributed to a landscape that appreciates beauty and creativity. This course is an introduction to Turkish culture and how it effects daily life, and it will also provide an overview of the history of art in Türkiye right from the Seljuk era up to present day. Visitors to Türkiye will enjoy its vibrant contemporary art scene and know how to make the most of the world-class art and culture in Türkiye. From sculpture, painting, architecture, theatre, ballet, and opera, to jewelry to textiles, fine art and handicrafts, this course will fully equip you to guide visi-tors on their Turkish culture and art events adventures.

What Will You Learn?

You will learn about all the traditional art forms for Turkish culture and will get a glimpse of how contemporary art beats in Türkiye. You will have a chance to learn more about Türkiye’s culture route festivals, and cultural and arts spaces across its major cities. You will learn about traditional methods and materials used by artisans and where to best find them in Türkiye. Disciplines include Ebru (marbling), glasswork, calligraphy and miniatures will inspire you to become a craftsman. You will learn how arts and culture have evolved over time and how visitors to Türkiye can enjoy them and even practice them themselves in Türkiye.
